Flaxseed Crackers



1 cup ground flaxseeds (or 1/2 cup ground flaxseed + 1/2 cup almond meal/flour)

2 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 cup water

1/2 tsp sea salt

2-3 tsp dried herbs of choice

sunflower seeds, sesame seeds etc can be added (optional)


Preheat oven to 190 deg Celcius.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicon mat.

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well with a fork or a hand whisk.

Add water and mix well to combine.

When the mixture is of dough consistency put onto prepared tray.  Add another piece of parchment paper and the top and roll out to a thin even layer on the tray.  Approx 5mm thick.

Remove top layer of parchment paper and cut into squares with a sharp knife or a pizza cutter.

Bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes.  You may need to check them after about 20 minutes as sometime the outer will be browning quicker, if this happens just remove them as they are cooked and cool on a wire rack.

Once cooled store in an airtight container.

Enjoy with dips or cheeses etc or on their own.

*Be sure that they are fully cooked before removing from the oven.
